X-Pole Wins Multiple Fake X-Pole Infringements in 2011

X-Pole Wins Multiple Court Cases against Copy/Fake X-Poles
In 2010 X-Pole won multiple legal settlements across the world against companies importing or selling Copy/Fake X-Pole products and using the Vertical Leisure/X-Pole names and copyright photos and text.

Many of the companies concerned have imported fake X-Poles from companies in China claiming to be the X-Pole manufacturer. They then used the X-Pole name, inferred that the product was X-Pole, used copyright text and X-Pole copyright photos to market the fake products.

In addition the fake products breached X-Poles international product design rights.

In addition to passing off as X-Pole certain aspects of copyright infringement are 'criminal offenses' which the directors of an infringing company are personally libel for.

Customs and Excise and Trading Standards also now take the importation of fake product, copyright infringement, misrepresentation and passing off extremely seriously and will investigated the companies concerned, a situation that no company needs.

In all cases Vertical Leisure Ltd has received damages and legal expenses and in most cases these have been 5 digit sums as well as any existing stock destroyed.

Warning - Following these successful legal actions Vertical Leisure / X-pole advises it will take legal action against ANY company who infringes X-Pole patents, design rights, titles/names or copyrighted text and photos.

X-Joints - The latest in Pole Technology

X-Joints (Patent Pending)

Why X-Joints
The reason for having a multi-piece poles is so that they can be carried to different locations and be used at different heights. All multi-piece down into 2 or several more lengths of tube which can be carried. The different heights achieved by adding different tubes or extensions together.

In order to join the various tubes together joints are used. These are either screw together, where one end has a threaded screw and the other tube a threaded insert which the screw part goes into. The other method is to use an insert tube which inserts into each tube end and acts as a joiner.  Both these methods have advantages and disadvantages.

Screw Threads - these take time to put together and undo, their biggest negative is that they get stuck together and the tubes are difficult to undo. They are also expensive to make as a lot of machining is required and the joints must be welded into the tube - some screw poles and fake poles are not welded and these are very dangerous. X-Pole has always used welded screw joints before X-Joint as this has been the best method up to now.

Insert Joint - these have several problems. As the insert must be smaller than the tube, so the insert can go onto the pole tube, when the tubes come together there is always a tolerance problem. The pole tubes wobble allowing the gaps between the tubes to open up and it is possible for the dancer to get her skin caught in the joint or cut herself on the joint edge. One other problem with most insert joined poles is that the tubes rotate when the dancer is on them as there in nothing holding the tubes together - and also as the tubes rotate they can loosen the adjuster and the pole can fall over!!

But now there is X-Joint.

X-Joint is the latest type of pole joint - designed by and exclusive to X-Pole. X-Joint incorporates all the key points needed for a multi-piece pole.

-  It makes the pole easy and quick to put together - simply insert and tighten the screws
-  It is easy and quick to undo - simply undo and remove the insert, takes seconds
-  it won't allow the poles to rotate - a special locating mechanism stops rotation
-  It creates a more rigid pole joint - due to the longer insert being tight in the pole
-  it is stronger - due to the thick insert material and  being locked in the pole
-  it reduces overall pole flex - due to the insert making the joint more rigid

X-Joint is the future for multi-piece poles and it is exclusive to X-Pole.
